TARKA International Limited – Booking Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to all reservations made with TARKA International Limited (“TARKA”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By booking with us, you agree to the conditions outlined below.

Check-in: from 4:00 pm

Check-out: by 10:00 am

Early check-in and late check-out may be available on request, subject to availability and an additional charge. 

If you arrive after midnight, you can still check-in. No-shows will not be refunded as per the rate conditions stipulated in section 4. 

TARKA is an adult-only property. Guests must be 18 years or older to stay. *

Valid photo ID may be requested at check-in.

* Please note that we do accept enquiries for school-aged groups and these will be booked subject to availability.

  • All bookings must be guaranteed with a valid payment card at the time of booking. 
  • We are a cashless property. We accept major debit and credit cards (American Express is not accepted)
  • Payment terms depend on your selected rate and are taken in the currency displayed at booking.

Cancellation and amendment rules vary by rate:


Flexible Rates

  • Full payment is taken at booking but refundable if cancelled up to 7 days before arrival (local Edinburgh time).
  • Cancellations within 7 days, early departures, or no-shows are non-refundable.


Non-Refundable Rates

  • Full payment is taken at booking.
  • These bookings cannot be cancelled, amended, or refunded.


Promotional Rates

Promotional rates, discounts, and special offers are subject to the following conditions:

  • Promotional Rates are available for a limited period and may only apply to specific capsules or dates.
  • They are subject to availability at the time of booking and cannot be guaranteed beyond the specified offer.
  • Unless otherwise stated, Promotional Rates require full prepayment at the time of booking.
  • Promotional Rates are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled or amended unless explicitly allowed in the offer details.
  • TARKA reserves the right to update or withdraw promotional offers at any time.
  • Guests booking under a Promotional Rate are bound by the rate-specific terms provided at the time of booking.


All rates include VAT and city taxes. Additional charges for services added during your stay (e.g. lockers, late check-out, extras) are payable at the time of purchase.

Bookings made via third-party platforms are subject to their terms and must be managed directly through them.

Capsule type and location are subject to availability. 
We do our best to meet preferences but these cannot be guaranteed. 
Maximum occupancy per capsule is one adult. 

To maintain a calm, comfortable environment: 

  • Quiet hours apply, typically 11 pm – 7 am. 
  • Guests must respect shared spaces and other guests.
  • Prohibited behaviour includes disruptive noise, harassment, parties, use of drugs or alcohol in capsules or unsafe activity.
  • Cooking in public spaces or in capsules is prohibited.
  • Guests causing repeated disturbances may be asked to leave without refund.

If you experience noise or disruption, please contact our team immediately via the details in your capsule, via WhatsApp, or speak to a member of the team. 

While we strive to assist promptly, we cannot guarantee full resolution in all cases.

  • Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside your capsule and throughout the building.
  • Eating and drinking inside your capsule are also prohibited, except for water.
  • Anyone found in breach of these rules may be fined up to £200.
  • Guests are responsible for any damage caused during their stay and may be charged for repairs or replacement.
  • If you feel unwell or require assistance, please contact our team immediately.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or terminate a stay if a guest’s condition presents a risk to themselves or others. 
  • Emergency procedures (fire, medical, evacuation) must be followed at all times.
  • Guests are responsible for their belongings at all times.
  • TARKA is not liable for loss, theft, or damage, except as required by law.
  • Secure lockers are available for a fee; we recommend using them for valuables. 

TARKA is not liable for cancellations, delays, or changes caused by unforeseeable events beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government actions, or utility disruptions. 

Where possible, refunds or alternative arrangements will be offered at our discretion. 

Your personal data is handled according to our Privacy & Cookies Policy, which explains how we collect, store, and use your information.

We may update these Booking Terms & Conditions from time to time. 
The most current version will always be available on our website and will apply to future bookings.
